When Jeffrey Rogers founded the company, he selected the name Briggs in honor of the late Harry Donald “Don” Briggs. Don was Jeff’s grandfather who was instrumental in his life.
In his early years, Don Briggs was a masonry tradesman working for his family owned contracting business. Later, he served honorably in the U.S. Marine Corps in the Korean War. He attended the University of Southern California (USC) where he studied mathematics and physical education. He then embarked on a long and distinguished career with the Los Angeles Police Department where he eventually served as the commanding officer of the Organized Crime Intelligence Division before retiring in 1979. Don was devoted to his family, especially his beloved Mavis, his wife of more than 50 years.
